Letter from the Chapter

Dear Potential Members,

I am currently a Junior at the University of Oregon studying Sociology. I was previously the Vice President of Membership but am now the President of the sorority. I have been a member of Sigma Kappa for a little over 2 years and I have enjoyed every moment. Sigma Kappa is more than just a large group of women- it is a place I can call home. Unlike the majority of my sisters, I did not go through formal recruitment. I went through informal recruitment, also known as COB. Going through COB was hands down the best decision I made in college. I not only gained 160 best friends, but I also gained memories I would never want to forget.

I can proudly say that Sigma Kappa has helped shape me into the woman I am today. Without Sigma Kappa I would not be the determined member I am today. Since joining the chapter my GPA has increased by over one point and have contributed approximately 21 hours of community service a year-- while being surrounded by my best friends. This is an experience of a lifetime, and I would highly recommend that everyone go Greek and find women who hold the same values as they do.

Best,

Marlee, Chapter President
